- Be able to describe the different types of hydrocarbons
- Be able to name linear and branched alkanes and alkenes
- Be able to distiguish constitutional and cis-trans isomers.
- Be able to describe what a functional group is and how they are used to classify organic molecule.
- Be able to recognize benzene as a representative aromatic molecule
- Be able to describe how the physical properties of hydrocarbons are related to their chemical structures.
