- Be able to calculate either [H3O+] or [OH-] when the other is known.
- Be able to relate the pH of a solution to the hydronium and hydroxide ion concentrations
- Be able to describe the difference betwee and strong acid and a weak acid and be ablet to predict acidic hydrogents from the structural formula for a molecule.
- Be able to indentify the conjugate base for an acid and the conjugate acid for a base.
- Be able to write balanced chemical equations for acid-base reactions.
- Be abe to describe what comprises as buffer are and what it does.
