Creating and working with database layouts
A layout is an arrangement of fields, field names, and other objects. Layouts determine the way data is organized and presented in Browse mode and in reports. When you create a new database document, AppleWorks automatically creates a layout. You can create other layouts to provide different views of the information in your database. You switch between layouts using the Layout menu or the layout pop-up menu, on the left side of the document window (except in Browse mode). Tip: To see how changes you make to a layout affect the layout in Browse mode, create a new view of your document by choosing New View from the Window menu. Switch one of the windows to Browse mode and one to Layout mode.
