You can make records print in columns (which differs from a columnar layout, where each field appears in a column).

To make records print in columns:

Choose Edit Layouts from the Layout menu or from the layout pop-up menu on the left side of the document window (except in Browse mode). |

Select the layout you want to arrange in columns. |

Click Modify. |

Specify the number of columns you want. |

Select "Across first" to fill the columns horizontally or "Down first" to fill the columns vertically. |
To see what the document will look like before printing:

Choose Browse from the Layout menu. |

Choose Page View from the Window menu. |
