Filling enclosed areas with colors or other attributes

Use the paint bucket to fill enclosed areas with the current fill color or attributes.

Tip: If the area being filled isn't completely enclosed, the paint will "leak" into areas you didn't intend to fill. Before filling, it's a good idea to zoom in on an image and make sure the area is completely enclosed. If you experience an unintended "leak," choose Undo Paint from the Edit menu before doing anything else.

    To fill an enclosed area:
1 If the Tools window is not open, choose Show Tools from the Window menu, or click the toolbox icon at the bottom of the active document:
2 Choose the fill color or other attributes from the Tools or Accents window.
3 Select the paint bucket in the Tools window:
4 Position the tip of the paint bucket anywhere in the area to be filled, then click once.

Tip: You can also fill part of an image that has already been filled with a pattern, wallpaper, or gradient.

If you can't select the paint bucket:
If you are working in a painting frame, make sure you enter the frame to edit it. If you still can't select the paint bucket, you probably aren't in a painting frame or document and therefore cannot use this feature. Use the drawing tools instead.
