Printing a document

Tip: To see exactly how your document will print, choose Page View from the Window menu. (Word-processing and presentation documents always display in Page View.)

    To print a document:
1 Select a printer and specify print and page options.
2 Choose Print from the File menu.
3 Select print options. (For some printers, you must choose AppleWorks from the pop-up menu in the dialog box to see the AppleWorks options.)
Some document types have special printing options. For example, in a word-processing document, you can print only left or right facing pages; in a spreadsheet, you can print column or row headings; in a database, you can print only the current record or all records.
Tip: For an explanation of the options in the Print dialog box, choose Show Balloons from the Help menu.
    4 Click Print.

Tip: To print a single copy using the settings last specified (without opening the Print dialog box), press Option while you choose Print One Copy from the File menu.

Note: If you're printing on a desktop printer, you can see which of your documents are waiting to print, change the print order, or cancel print jobs in the desktop printer window. See your Mac OS online help for more information about managing print jobs on a desktop printer.

If you see a dialog box that says the margins are smaller than the printer allows:
Increase the document margins. Then, in Page View, make sure that no objects extend beyond the new margins.

If parts of your document don't print because they extend beyond the right page margin:
You can resize objects or painted images, or add pages to a drawing or painting document.
