Publishing Web pages

You can use Personal Web Sharing to publish Web pages or share files on the Internet (or on your company or school intranet) from a folder on your hard disk.

    To publish Web pages:
1 Copy files in HTML format to the Web Pages folder on your hard disk.
2 If necessary, connect to the Internet.
3 Use the Web Sharing control panel to specify one of the files as your home page. Your home page is the first page visitors see when they visit your site.
Open the Web Sharing control panel for me.
4 Use the Web Sharing control panel to start Web Sharing.

IMPORTANT: The files you put in the Web Pages folder must be in HTML format for other users to view them as Web pages.

To share files of any type:
Select None as your home page in the Web Sharing control panel. Your files will be listed in another user's browser window by the Personal NetFinder.
Users can copy files from this list by dragging file names to their desktop or other folder.

To both display your HTML pages and allow others to copy files from a list, set up a Personal NetFinder link:
Specify a home page in the Web Sharing control panel, then add a link to one of your HTML pages that includes "PNF:" in one of these formats:
http://your server name or IP address/PNF:
http://your server name or IP address/PNF:subfolder/

To view a complete guide to Personal Web Sharing:
