Changing chart pictogram symbols

You can change the picture used in all data series of a pictogram chart, or use a different picture for each series. You can use an AppleWorks drawing or painting, or clip art.

To change and format a pictogram symbol:
1 Copy the picture you want to use to the Clipboard.
Note: If you're using a painting image, select only the image without white space around it.
2 Select the chart, then choose Chart Options from the Edit menu.
Tip: You can also double-click a series box in the legend, if the chart has a legend.
    3 If necessary, click Series.
4 Choose a data series from the "Edit series" pop-up menu.
5 Click the Sample box, then choose Paste from the Edit menu.
To repeat the picture in the bar instead of having it fill the bar, select Repeating. To overlap the repeating picture, type a percentage for "% overlap."

Tip: To quickly change a data series pictogram, do step 1, click the series box in the legend, then choose Paste from the Edit menu.

You can also change the border and background color of the bars that appear behind the pictograms, or you can turn off the border and background so that only the pictogram symbol shows.
