[Chloroperoxidase] [Summary] [References]

As it has been shown, even though oxidoreductases are all immensely important when it comes to the processes of metabolism, each subcategory, and even protiens within those subcategories, are highly diverse. With folding topologies that range from mainly helical to alph/beta to beta-barrels, and active site residues that can be any number of combinations, it is amazing that this wide array of enzymes are all responsible for essentially the same reaction: the transfer of electrons from one molecule to another.
