Creating and editing a macro
You create a macro by recording a series of actions to which you assign a keyboard command. You can also create macros that run automatically in specified circumstances. And, you can create a button in the Button Bar for your macro.
Recording a macro
To record a macro:

If necessary, open the document or document type you need. |

Choose Macros from the File menu and Record Macro from the submenu. |

Type a name for the macro. |

Tip: If you want the macro to run automatically, type the appropriate name from the table below. |

Assign a keyboard command to the macro: |

To assign a function key, click the Function Key option and then press the desired function key. |
|
To assign another key, click the "Option + + Key" option and press the desired key. |
|

Set the desired macro options: |

|
To include idle time between recorded actions when executing a macro, select Play Pauses. |
|
To make the macro available only in the current document, click Document Specific. |
|
To make the macro available only in documents of a specific type, click the appropriate option or options in the Play In section. |

Click Record. |

Perform all the actions that you want to include in the macro. |

Choose Macros from the File menu and Stop Recording from the submenu. |
Creating a macro that runs automatically
To create a macro that runs automatically, give the macro one of these names:

Editing a macro
You can change a macro's name, assigned keyboard command, and any of the options you selected when creating the macro. You cannot edit the actions performed by a macro; to change a macro's behavior, you must record a new macro.
To edit a macro:

Choose Macros from the File menu and Edit Macros from the submenu. |

Select the name of the macro you want to edit, then click Modify. |

Make the desired changes to the name, assigned keyboard command, and macro options. |
