Adding or removing Button Bar buttons
AppleWorks comes with many preconfigured buttons for common tasks. You can add these controls to the Button Bar.
To add a preconfigured button to the Button Bar:

Choose Preferences from the Edit menu, then choose Button Bar from the submenu. |

Drag the preconfigured button from the Available Buttons list to the Button Bar. |
Creating buttons for the Button Bar
You can also create and add buttons for tasks such as opening a document or application, going to an Internet site, or performing a specified action (an AppleWorks macro or a Mac OS AppleScript).
To create a button and add it to the Button Bar:

Choose Preferences from the Edit menu, then choose Button Bar from the submenu. |

Click New. |

Type a name and description for the button. |

New buttons come with a default icon, but you can change it. |

Choose what you want the button to do from the Action pop-up menu, then choose or enter an item. |

To have AppleWorks display the button only in certain environments, click Advanced Options, click Custom, then select one or more environments. |

Click OK. |

Drag the button from the list in the dialog box to the Button Bar. |

Tip: You can also double-click the button in the list to add it to the Button Bar. |
Removing buttons from the Button Bar
To remove a button from the Button Bar:

Press the Control key while you click the button in the Button Bar, then choose Remove Button from the contextual menu. |

Tip: You can also delete a button by dragging it from the Button Bar to the Trash on the Mac OS Finder desktop. |
