Finding items in the Clippings window
You can search for clippings saved on your hard disk. Or, if you're connected to the Internet, you can search thousands of Web-based clip art images on the AppleWorks Web site for the image you want.
Finding clippings on your hard disk
To search for a clipping on your hard disk, the clipping must have a name, a search keyword, or both. If you've added your own items to Clippings, you need to assign a name or keyword before you can search for the item.
To search for items in the Clippings window:
1 |
If Clippings is not open, choose Show Clippings from the File menu. |
2 |
Click the Search tab. |
3 |
Type a description of what you're looking for. |
|
Tip: The Clippings search capability automatically searches for any names and keywords that include the specified search text. If you want to limit your searches to exact matches, you can deselect the "Allow partial matches" option in the Clippings Settings dialog box (available from the contextual menu for the Clippings window). |
4 |
Click Search. |
|
AppleWorks displays thumbnails of clip art that match your description. |
Tip: If you click in the Clippings window, a colored ring appears around the window's content area. You can then press -Left Arrow or -Right Arrow to move left or right through the tabbed panels. Quickly select an item in a Clippings panel with "type-ahead selection": click in the panel and type the beginning of the name of the item.
