AppleWorks offers several paint modes that affect the way patterns and colors interact when they overlap.
To change the way colors and patterns overlap:
1 |
Choose Paint Mode from the Options menu. |
2 |
Select a paint mode: |
To make newly painted images hide everything underneath, choose Opaque. |
To make existing images show through the white areas of newly painted images, choose "Transparent pattern." |
To make newly painted images add a pale wash of the current fill color without hiding any existing images underneath, choose Tint. |
If you can't choose Paint Mode:
If you want to work in a painting frame, make sure you enter the frame to edit it. If you still can't choose Paint Mode, you are in a drawing document and therefore cannot overlap colors. In a drawing, you use different methods for changing the appearance of objects. (Because there are significant differences between painting and drawing features, it is important to choose whether you need to paint or draw before you begin creating something.)
