Rotating objects

Rotating objects freely

    To rotate objects freely:
1 Select one or more objects.
2 Choose Free Rotate from the Arrange menu.
3 Drag one of the object handles.
Tip: To constrain rotation to a 45-degree increment, hold down the Shift key while you drag.
4 To turn off free rotation, choose Free Rotate from the Arrange menu again or select another tool.

Rotating objects by an exact angle

To rotate objects by an exact angle:
1 Select one or more objects.
2 Choose Rotate from the Arrange menu. (To rotate by 90 degrees, choose Rotate 90° from the Arrange menu and skip step 3.)
3 Type an angle of rotation.
Tip: You can also specify an angle of rotation by choosing Object Size from the Options menu.

If you don't see the Arrange menu:
If you see the Transform menu and not the Arrange menu, you are in a painting document or frame and must use a different method for rotating items. (Because there are significant differences between painting and drawing features, it is important to choose whether to paint or draw before you begin creating something.)
