Adding a Smart Photoshop object
When you first create a Smart Photoshop object, the GoLive Save For Web dialog box offers extensive control for optimizing a Web-formatted copy of the source image. The dialog box lets you preview optimized images in different Web graphics file formats and with different file attributes. You can view multiple versions of an image simultaneously and modify optimization settings as you preview the image to select the best combination of settings for your needs. You can also use predefined settings for selecting custom options.
To add a Smart Photoshop object: - Add a Smart Photoshop object to your page. For more information about adding a Smart Object to a Web page, see Adding a Smart Object to the Layout Editor.
- If the Photoshop file is multilayered with text, GoLive opens the Variable Settings dialog box. If desired, select the Use option, type text in the text box to replace the existing text, and click OK.
- In the Save For Web dialog box, select a predefined optimization setting from the Settings pop-up menu or create your own using the available pop-up menus, and click OK. For more information about using Save For Web, see Optimizing images for the Web.
- Save the target file somewhere in the site folder (for instance, in a folder named "images"), and click Save. If you do not save to the site folder, the link will not be valid.
