Working with variables in a LiveMotion file

GoLive can detect replacement tags (variables) in LiveMotion files and control LiveMotion variable objects for automated graphics production, animation building, and file updates via Smart LiveMotion objects. You can swap the text, assign or modify an embedded link, apply a new style or texture using controls within GoLive. GoLive then launches LiveMotion, which applies the settings to the variables and generates a new SWF target file.

Note: You must have LiveMotion 2 installed on your computer to work with variables.

When you add a LiveMotion (LIV) file to the Layout Editor, GoLive opens the Variable Settings dialog box. The LiveMotion Variable Settings dialog box offers the following options:

    Set or Change the Text

Use Set Text to enter the content of the text in the Smart LiveMotion object. Use the Set Font, Set Font Size, Set Tracking (the space between letters), and Set Leading (the space between lines of text) to specify the appearance of the text.

View, Assign, or Modify an Embedded Link

Use Set Link to view, assign, or modify an embedded URL link by specifying a file for the link destination. Unlike Smart Photoshop or Smart Illustrator objects, URL links for Smart LiveMotion objects are set in the Variables Settings dialog box, not in the Smart Inspector. Use Set Target to specify the frame that the linked URL will appear in.

Modify or Set the Appearance of an Object

Use Set Color, Set Style, and Set Texture to apply a color, LiveMotion style, or LiveMotion texture, respectively, to an object variable.
