Setting up a dynamic image

You must set up a dynamic image for use with AlterCast.

To set up a dynamic image:

1. Drag a Smart Illustrator or Smart Photoshop object from the Smart Objects set of the Objects palette onto the page in the desired location. The following steps assume you are placing an Illustrator SVG file on the page, but the steps are the same for a Photoshop PSD file.
2. In the Inspector, set the source field to reference the SVG file. The SVG or PSD file needs to be part of the site and uploaded to the server where AlterCast can access it.
3. The Variables dialog box lists the variables defined in the image file. You don't need to check any of the boxes in this dialog. Click OK.
4. Create and save a preview image when prompted to do so in the Save for Web dialog box. The generated image will only be used as a placeholder in the Layout view. It need not be uploaded to the server. Ignore any questions about variables.

The image is now set up and ready to have variables connected to content source fields.
