Using repeat rows

Repeat Rows displays repeating content in a vertical orientation, adding new rows from top to bottom as needed. Repeat Rows is a table object with the Repeat Rows option preselected. (See Creating dynamic tables for the manual approach to creating this type of table.)

To fill a table with dynamic content that repeats rows from top to bottom:

  1. Drag the Repeat Rows icon from the Dynamic Content set of the Objects palette to the document page.
  2. In the Table Inspector, modify the table as desired.
  3. In the Replace Rows area of the Dynamic Bindings palette, choose a content source from the popup menu.
  4. Set options, as desired, for records you want displayed, and how many records you want displayed per page.
  5. Enter placeholder text in any cell of top row, and select it.
  6. Bind the placeholder to a field in a content source, using the Dynamic Bindings palette.
  7. Continue adding placeholder text and binding it to fields as desired.
  8. Another type of repeated region you can create on your page is available through the Repeat Content object. A practical example is populating an HTML unnumbered list with dynamic content, such as product names or features, authors, press releases, and so on.
