Using repeat cells

The Repeat Cells object in the Dynamic Content pane of the Objects palette lets you fill a table that repeats in a horizontal orientation, from left to right. For example, an e-commerce site with multiple storefronts might display the names of each store in a tabbed structure across the top of the main home page. Repeat Cells is a table object with the Repeat Cells option preselected.

To fill a table with dynamic content that repeats cells from left to right:

  1. Drag the Repeat Cells icon from the Dynamic Content set of the Objects palette to the document page.
  2. In the Table Inspector, modify the table as desired.
  3. In the Repeat Cells area of the Dynamic Bindings palette, choose a content source from the popup menu.
  4. Set options, as desired, for Maximum cells per row and Maximum rows per page.
  5. Enter placeholder text in top left cell, and select it.
  6. Bind the placeholder to a field in a content source, using the Dynamic Bindings palette.
  7. Note: There is no notion of header cells that appear in cells before the data from the content source. The dynamic content fills the table cells starting from the first cell.
