Updating or detaching a page template

Pages that you create based on a page template remain linked to the template, so that when you make changes to the template, the pages are automatically updated. You can detach the page template from the pages so there is no longer a link between them.

To update a page template:

1. Open the page template by doing any of the following:
• Double-click the template file in the Extras tab in the site window, and click Modify.
• In the Site Extras set in the Objects palette, choose Templates from the pop-up menu, double-click the template icon, and click Modify.
• Click in a page that was created from the template and choose Template > Open Attached Template from the context menu.
2. Make changes to the template's page layout as desired, and then do any of the following in the Template Regions palette:
• Click the New Region button  to apply an editable region to a selection in the layout.
• Select a region name and enter a new name.
• Select a region and click the Unmark Region button .

Note: You must unmark an editable region before you can delete its content in the document window.

3. Choose File > Save.
4. In the Updating Template dialog box, select the pages that you want to be updated from the modified template, and click OK.

To detach a page from a page template:

Click in the page and choose Template > Detach from Template from the context menu.
