Folder action scripts
By using a folder action script, you can automate tasks you do frequently. For example, you can specify that when a file is placed in one folder, it's copied into another folder. The Mac OS includes several folder action scripts in the Folder Action Scripts folder (located in the Scripts folder inside the System Folder). To use a folder action script, you attach it to a folder. If a folder has a script attached, its icon includes a script icon.
If folder actions are not working:
You can create your own folder action scripts by using AppleScript or you might find other folder action scripts on the Internet. You can place folder action scripts anywhere on your disk or in the Folder Action Scripts folder.
