Attaching and removing folder action scripts

To attach a folder action script to a folder:
1 Hold down the Control key and click the folder's icon.
You may need to turn off the Simple Finder (in the Finder's Preferences window, in the Edit menu) to do this step.
Turn off the Simple Finder for me.
2 Choose "Attach a Folder Action" from the menu.
3 Select the script you want to attach in the dialog box.

WARNING: If you aren't sure about the source of a script, don't use it. Use only scripts that you write yourself or have acquired from a reliable source.

To remove a folder action script from a folder:
1 Hold down the Control key and click the folder's icon.
Note: If the Simple Finder is turned on, you need to turn it off (in the Finder's Preferences window, in the Edit menu) before you can do this step.
Turn off the Simple Finder for me.
2 Choose "Remove a Folder Action" from the menu, then select the script you want to remove.
The script is "detached" from the folder so it no longer runs. The actual script file on your disk is not affected.
