Changing the symbols used to plot data

You can change the symbols used to plot data points in line, X-Y line, area, stacked area, scatter, and X-Y scatter charts. You can also change the color and size of the symbols. In line, X-Y line, area, and stacked area charts, you can also hide the symbols.

    To change data symbols:
1 Select the chart, then choose Chart Options from the Edit menu.
Tip: You can also double-click a series box in the legend, if the chart has a legend.
    2 If necessary, click Series.
3 Choose a data series from the "Edit series" pop-up menu.
4 If you want AppleWorks to represent data points with a graphic symbol, choose a symbol.
To change the symbol color, choose a color from the color pop-up menu.
To change the symbol size, type a size.
To display the line or area without symbols, deselect Symbol.
You can't deselect Symbol for scatter and X-Y scatter charts.

Tip: You can also change the color of symbols by clicking the series box in the legend and choosing Pen options from the Accents window.

If symbols for different series look too similar:
Select a different symbol for each series, or change the symbol's size and color.
