Remote Access passwords

You may need to provide two different passwords to access files on remote servers:
The Remote Access password you use to connect to a remote access server and gain access to a network
The AppleShare password you use to connect to computers on that network (as a registered user or owner)

Changing passwords

You can change your remote access password on a remote server if you are connected to the server by means of the ARAP protocol. (You can't change your password if you use a PPP connection; the server administrator must change the password.)

To change your remote access password:
    1 Connect to the server.
2 Open the Remote Access control panel.
Open the Remote Access control panel for me.
3 Open the RemoteAccess menu and choose Change Password.

Note: If AppleShare is installed on the same server as your Remote Access server, changing your Remote Access password also changes your AppleShare password.

To change your password for an AppleShare server:
Connect to the server using the Chooser or Network Browser, then click the Change Password button in the login dialog box.

To change your password as the owner of your computer, use the File Sharing control panel.

Tip: To avoid typing a password every time you access a network server, create a keychain that contains your passwords for frequently accessed volumes.
