Using a keychain to organize passwords

You can store passwords for access to AppleShare volumes and Internet locations in a keychain. Then, after you provide one password to unlock your keychain, the user names and passwords stored in it are provided automatically when needed.

Use the Keychain Access control panel to store your passwords in a secure keychain.

Open the Keychain Access control panel for me.

To add an AppleShare password to your keychain:
When you connect to the server as a registered user, click the "Add to Keychain" checkbox when you enter your name and password.

Tip: You can add the user name and password for an AppleShare volume to a keychain by opening the keychain using the Keychain Access control panel, then dragging the icon for the volume from your desktop to the open keychain window.

To add an Internet password to your keychain:
Save an Internet location file for the protected site, then drag the location file to an open keychain window.
