| To the left is a depiction of a M4 LDH subunit. Its shape is found to be common throughout the other types of LDH. It has approximately 331 amino acids and a molecular weight of 35000 kD.
In the LDH subunit about 24% of the residues are in the alpha helical conformation. Another 10-15% are in beta-sheet conformation. And except for about twenty residues at the N-terminus the subunit is globular. |
