Login settings

Allow users to provide an alternative to a typed password. |
|
Allow users to speak their names. To use this feature, the English Speech Recognition software must be on your computer. You can install it with the Mac OS Installer. |

Choose what happens when an account remains idle for a specified time. |

IMPORTANT: For this feature to work, the user must have a password. |

CD/DVD-ROM access settings
You can allow users access to only certain CD and DVD-ROM discs and to only specific content on them. Insert a disc and then set options:

"List for restricted users": Displays the titles of discs that Panels and Limited users can access. To add a disc to the list, insert it and click "Add to List." |
|
Note: To stop audio CDs from playing automatically when the computer starts up, turn off the CD Autoplay feature in the QuickTime Settings control panel. |
|
"Restrict content to": Displays the main contents of the disc. To restrict access to some content of the disc, select those items in this window. If you restrict access to some content in one disc, users will only have access to some content in all discs. |
Other settings

Allow a Guest User Account: Select to create a user account named Guest. You can set Guest access privileges in the Multiple Users control panel. |
|
Notify when new applications have been installed: Select to be notified when a new application is installed on the computer. You can prevent users from accessing new applications in the Multiple Users control panel. |

Computer Settings: Choose how users can log in, and specify where your user accounts are: |
|
|
If all accounts are located on your computer, click "Multiple User Accounts (local)." |
|
If accounts are created in Macintosh Manager, click "Macintosh Manager account (on network)." |
