Adjusting the computer's speaker

If your computer has a built-in speaker, you can adjust its volume using the Main Volume control in the Sound control panel.

Open the Sound control panel for me.

You may also be able to adjust the volume using controls on the keyboard or on the front of the computer.

If you can't change the speaker volume:
Make sure the volume of the alert sound is turned up in the Alerts section of the Sound control panel.
Make sure the Mute checkbox in the Sound control panel is unchecked.
Make sure nothing is plugged into the computer's sound output port.

If you can't change the subwoofer volume:
You may be able to use the balance control on some subwoofers to change the subwoofer volume setting when external speakers are attached to your computer, or if your monitor has built-in speakers. With USB subwoofers, try setting the subwoofer volume using the Speakers section of the Sound control panel instead. Volume adjustments can sometimes be made on the subwoofer itself.
