Improving the performance of programs

You can make your programs work more quickly by increasing the size of your disk cache. The disk cache is a portion of your computer's random-access memory (RAM) set aside to store frequently used information. The disk cache helps your programs work more quickly, but the RAM it uses is not available for opening programs.

To improve the performance of programs:
Increase the size of the disk cache in the Memory control panel, then restart your computer.
Open the Memory control panel for me.

If you need to make more memory available:
Reduce the size of the disk cache in the Memory control panel, then restart your computer.
