Adjusting settings for the Clippings window

You can alter the arrangement of items in the Clippings window, the orientation of the Clippings window, the size of the thumbnail images (the image icons representing items in Clippings), and the clippings cache. (When you search the AppleWorks Web site for clip art, AppleWorks stores temporary files in a cache.)

When searching the Web for clippings, you can also specify whether to look for only exact matches or partial matches of the text you type. (For example, searching for "cat" with "Allow partial matches" selected would find "bobcat.")

To change the arrangement of items in Clippings:
Hold down the Control key, click a tab and choose an item from the Sort submenu.

To change the position of the tabs on the Clippings window:
Control-click in the Clippings window, choose Reposition Tabs, and choose a new position from the submenu.

To resize thumbnails displayed in the Clippings window:
Control-click in the Clippings window, choose Clippings Settings, and choose a size from the pop-up menu.

To adjust the size of the cache or to empty the cache:
Control-click in the Clippings window, choose Clippings Settings, and change the size of the cache or click Empty Now.

To determine how AppleWorks searches for clippings:
Control-click in the Clippings window, choose Clippings Settings, and select or deselect "Allow partial matches."
