Finding and changing specific text

You can find specified text in any type of AppleWorks document except painting documents. You can also replace found text with different text.

Finding and changing text

    To find or replace text:
1 Choose Find/Change from the Edit menu, then choose Find/Change from the submenu.
2 Type the text you want to find in the Find box.
3 Select one or more options:
To find only whole words (for example, "blue" would find "blue" but not "blueberry"), click "Whole word."
To match uppercase and lowercase letters exactly, click "Case sensitive."
4 If you want to change the found text, type the replacement text in the Change box.
5 Choose one of the following:
To search only for the next occurrence of the text (and not change anything), click Find Next.
To change the selection without finding the next occurrence, click Find Next, then click Change.
To change the selection and find the next occurrence, click Find Next, then click Change, Find.
To automatically replace every occurrence of the Find text with the Change text, click Change All.
Tip: You can close the Find/Change dialog box and continue to find the specified text by choosing Find/Change from the Edit menu, then Find Again from the submenu. (This method won't work if you deleted the search text before closing the dialog box.)
