Resizing tables
You can make a table larger or smaller by dragging a handle (the small black squares that appear around the edges of a table when it is selected).
To resize a table:

Select the table. |

Click a handle and drag. |

Note: Inline tables have only one handle. |
Note: You can also add or delete cells.
Resizing table cells by dragging
To resize columns or rows while keeping the size of the overall table the same:

Double-click to select a line in the column or row. |

Drag the selected line. |

The adjacent column or row resizes to keep the size of the overall table the same. |
To resize columns or rows without resizing adjacent cells:

Double-click to select a line in the column or row. |

Press the Command key while you drag the selected line. |

The adjacent column or row is not resized, but the overall table grows or shrinks to accommodate the new size. |
To resize individual cells:

Enter the table by double-clicking any cell. (If the table frame is already selected, you can click once to enter it.) |

Hold down the Option key and click to select a border of the cell you want to resize. |

Drag the selected line to resize the cell. |
Note: You can also resize cells by subdividing or merging them.
Resizing table cells into equal dimensions
To resize cells so that they are of equal size:

Select the cells that you want to be of equal size. |

Choose Distribute Columns Evenly or Distribute Rows Evenly from the Table menu. |
