Drawing freehand objects

You can drag the freehand tool to draw in a document the way you would move a pen to draw on paper.

IMPORTANT: You can use the drawing tools in a painting, but because of significant differences between painting and drawing, choose whether you need to paint or draw before you begin creating something.

To draw lines in a freehand style:
1 If the Tools window is not open, choose Show Tools from the Window menu, or click the toolbox icon at the bottom of the active document:
    2 Select the freehand tool:
3 Drag to draw the shape you want.
Note: When you release the mouse button, AppleWorks smoothes the outline of the shape. If you don't want freehand objects smoothed, choose Preferences from the Edit menu, then choose General from the submenu. In the Options area, deselect Automatically Smooth Freehand.
