Displaying the site and document windows

You can display multiple site and document windows at a time--GoLive keeps track of the pages with their corresponding sites--so you can easily copy things from page to page and site to site.

You display the document window by opening HTML files or creating new pages in GoLive. For information on creating new pages, see Adding files to a site.

You display the site window by opening the site project file (with the .site filename extension) in GoLive. For information on creating the site project file, see Creating a site.

To expand the site window to two panes:

Click the double-arrow button Double arrow button in the site window at the bottom of the window. (To collapse the site window to a single pane, click the button again.)

To display the head section pane in the document window:

With the Layout tab selected, click the triangle Triangle button in the upper left corner of the document window (next to the page title). For information on using the head section pane, see Adding elements or scripts to the head section.

To display the source code pane in the Layout Editor:

With the Layout tab selected in the document window, click the double-arrow button Double-arrow button in the lower left corner of the window. The document window is split into two panes, with the source code pane showing another view of the Source Code Editor. You can also display the source code pane in the Frame Editor, Outline Editor, and Layout Preview on Mac OS.

To display the source code pane on the sides, top, or bottom of the window, Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac OS) the double-arrow button--each time you click, the pane moves to a new vertical or horizontal position in the window.

For information on using the source code pane, see Using the GoLive source code editors.

To display an editor or preview:

Click a tab at the top of the document window. (For example, click the Source tab to display the Source Code Editor.)
