Preparing for publication

GoLive is continually verifying and updating all the link references as you build your site, so there really isn't too much that you need to do for the final preparation before publishing your site on the Web.

Errors in your site are usually caused by moving, deleting, or renaming files on the desktop (in the Mac OS Finder or Windows Explorer) rather than using the site window. (Whenever you change a file on the hard disk rather than in the site window, be sure to open the site window and click the Refresh View button Refresh View button on the toolbar to update your site.) You can use the External and Errors tabs in the site window to track broken links and the In & Out Links palette to fix them. (See Fixing site errors.)

By selecting the External tab and choosing Site > Check External Links, you can use GoLive to connect to the Internet and check navigational links that reference external page and media URLs to make sure the sites haven't been moved or become obsolete.
