Editing the Syntax Checker

For any element, attribute, or property within Web Settings, the Version tab of the Inspector enables you to specify the browsers or HTML versions that support the item, and in some cases, set custom attributes. The browser compatibility options you select for a particular item contribute to browser warnings, which may appear when you launch the Syntax Checker (see Checking syntax).

Note: The settings in the Version tab of the Inspector do not affect how GoLive writes HTML code, nor do they affect how your pages are displayed by browsers.

To edit syntax checking rules:

  1. Select an element, attribute, or enumeration in the Markup tab of Web Settings.
  2. In the Version tab of the Inspector, select the browser or HTML versions that support the item.
  3. If the selected item is an element, select the Can Have Any Attribute option to allow attributes other than those already specified in Web Settings.
