Creating XHTML-Basic pages

XHTML-Basic was developed for use with browsers which do not support the full set of HTML features, such as those on mobile phones and handheld devices. By enforcing a simple yet strict set of rules, XHTML-Basic delivers content in a compact format that is accessible by a wide range of devices that support XHTML-Basic.

XHTML-Basic is the new standard that all microbrowsers will support: wireless handsets, home appliances, and car telematic systems. Many microbrowsers on new mobile devices will be dual-mode, that is they will be able to support both WML 1.0 and XHTML-Basic content. For more information on XHTML-Basic see http://forum.nokia.com, and click on WAP and then click XHTML.
