Using sound and music tracks

You can import sounds in various formats, including AIFF/AIFC, System 7 Sound, WAV, .mp3 files, Sound Designer II, and standard MIDI files. You add an audio file to your movie by dragging a Sound Track icon from the QuickTime set  of the Objects palette into the track list area of the Timeline Editor. (See Adding tracks to movies.) To add a MIDI file, add a MIDI track by dragging a MIDI icon from the QuickTime set  of the Objects palette into the track list area of the Timeline Editor.

After you add the sound or music track, click the Play button  in the Timeline Editor to listen to the track and see how it sounds with other tracks.
