Copying color values into a document

You can use DigitalColor Meter to paste the numerical value of a color into a document. This can save time, especially when working with Hex values of colors for use in HTML documents.

    Open DigitalColor Meter for me.

    To copy color values:
1 Hold the color by positioning the pointer over the color and pressing Command-H.
2 Choose Copy from the Edit menu.

To paste color values into a document:
Open the document, click to set an insertion point, and choose Paste from the Edit menu.

Tip: DigitalColor Meter displays the two-byte pixel values of RGB colors. Some programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, use one-byte values. If the RGB values you get from DigitalColor Meter are too large for you to use in other programs, convert the DigitalColor Meter values by dividing them by 256, then round the result up to the nearest whole number.
