If you often sort a database with the same criteria, you can easily reuse the sorting instructions by saving them as a named sort. You can also use named sorts to create reports.
						To create a named sort:
							
								| 1 | Choose New Sort from the sort pop-up menu on the left side of the document window (except in Browse mode).  | 
							
								| 2 | Type a name for the sort. | 
							
								| 3 | Create sorting instructions. | 
						
						To use a named sort:
							
								| 1 | If you're not already in Browse or List mode, choose Browse or List from the Layout menu. | 
							
								| 2 | Choose the named sort from the sort pop-up menu. | 
						
						To modify a named sort:
							
								| 1 | Choose Edit Sorts from the sort pop-up menu. | 
							
								| 2 | Select a sort from the list, then click Modify. | 
							
								| 3 | To rename the search, type a new name, then click OK. | 
							
								| 4 | Modify the sort criteria. | 
						
						To delete a named sort:
							
								| 1 | Choose Edit Sorts from the sort pop-up menu. | 
							
								| 2 | Select a sort from the list and click Delete. |
