Using a PPP connect script
If you regularly connect to a PPP server that requires you to use a terminal window to log in, you can create a connect script to avoid typing login commands and user information.
To create a connect script:
1 |
Connect to the server. |
2 |
When the PPP Terminal window appears, type the required commands and user information. |
3 |
Before completing your login, click Settings at the bottom of the terminal window. |
4 |
In the PPP Terminal Settings dialog box, select "Prompt to save Connect Script on close." |
5 |
If you want the terminal window to close when you finish logging in, select "Close Terminal when PPP is started." |
6 |
Click OK. (If you chose not to close the terminal window, click the Continue button at the bottom of the terminal window to close it.) |
7 |
Save the script. |
Importing a script
Your network administrator or Internet service provider may provide a connect script for you to use.
To import a connect script:
1 |
Open the Remote Access control panel. |
2 |
Click Options at the bottom of the dialog box. |
3 |
Click the Protocol tab. |
4 |
Choose PPP from the protocol pop-up menu. |
5 |
Select "Connect to a command-line host," then "Use connect script." |
6 |
Click "Import Script." |
