Choose which Beta Barrel to view
The beta sheet consisting of beta strands connected laterally by three or more hydrogen bonds, forming a generally twisted, pleated sheet is second form of secondary structure in proteins. In an antiparallel arrangement, the successive β strands alternate directions so that the N-terminus of one strand is adjacent to the C-terminus of the next. This is the arrangement that produces the strongest inter-strand stability
2CPL: Cyclophilins are proteins that bind to ciclosporin (cyclosporine A), an immunosuppressant which is usually used to suppress rejection after internal organ transplants. These proteins have peptidyl prolyl isomerase activity, which catalyzes the isomerization of peptide bonds from trans form to cis form at proline residues and facilitates protein folding.
1WHI: Ribonucleo protein L14 is one of the most conserved ribosomal proteins and appears to have a central role in the ribonucleoprotein complex. Studies have indicated that L14 occupies a central location between the peptidyl transferase and GTPase regions of the large ribosomal subunit.
