Similar species (if any): Ipomoea pandurata (Wild Sweet Potato) and Ipomoea lacunosa (Small White Morning Glory) resemble Calystegia sepium. Ipomoea lacunosa has only been reported from one county (Grant) in the south west corner of Wisconsin, and according to the USDA distribution map, Ipomoea pandurata is not reported in Wisconsin. Convolvulus arvensis (Field Bindweed) is similar, but has smaller flowers and leaves compared to Calystegia sepium. Calystegia spithamaea (Low False Bindweed) has similar flowers but has a plant height to around 20 inches compared with C. sepium as a 3 to 10 foot vine. Calystegia silvatica is also similar, but not reported in this region.
