Similar species (if any): Ajuga reptans (Carpet Bugle) is similar, but this species has creeping stolons and forms mats, whereas Ajuga genevensis has no creeping stolons and does not form mats. The leaves of Ajuga reptans are hairless or nearly so, whereas the leaves of Ajuga genevensis are fairly hairy.
