Creating a voiceprint password

A voiceprint password allows you to log in to your account by saying your password out loud, rather than typing it. The computer recognizes the unique voice of the person who created the voiceprint, and doesn't accept any other.

To enable voiceprint passwords, you must have Account Manager access privileges, and your computer must have a built-in microphone or a PlainTalk microphone connected to it.

    To create a voiceprint password:
1 Open the Multiple Users control panel.
Open the Multiple Users control panel for me.
2 Click Options and click the Login tab.
3 Select "Allow Alternate Password Voice Verification," then click Save.
4 Select your account in the Multiple Users control panel and click Open.
5 Click the Alternate Password tab and select "This user will use the alternate password."
If the Alternate Password tab in the user account window is unavailable, click Options, click the Login tab, and make sure the Allow Alternate Password checkbox is selected.
    6 Click Create Voiceprint.
You can use the phrase provided to you or you can record your own phrase by clicking Change Phrase.
    7 Click Continue.
    8 Click Record First.
9 Click Record, then begin speaking.
Speak consistently with an even tone. Don't whisper or speak too loudly. You'll repeat your password four times; try to duplicate the tone, pitch, and rate at which you speak.
After each recording, click Record/Stop and then click Done.
10 After the fourth recording, click "Try it" to check that it works.
