Creating a hierarchy of USB devices
You can connect hubs together to form a hierarchy, or "tree," of USB devices and hubs. You can have up to six levels of hubs and devices connected, with a maximum of 127 USB devices (including hubs) on each USB port on the computer. Note: Some computers may only support connecting a maximum of 127 USB devices using both ports. For more information, see the USB specifications for your computer. The hubs shown in the following illustration are all self-powered.
