Using the Color paletteYou can use the Color palette to color page backgrounds, text, objects on a page, and screen elements in GoLive. You can select any of 216 Web-safe colors by color swatch, name, or hexadecimal value. The Color palette also contains sets of colors based on CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), RGB (Red, Green, Blue), HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value), HSB (for video hardware), grayscale, and 256-Color palettes. The Site Color List in the Color palette displays the colors you have stored in your site. (See Using site colors.) Note: When you use the Color palette to directly color text or objects on the page, GoLive inserts the color attribute inside the font element. The font element has been deprecated and is planned for removal from the next HTML standard. Because the font element is known to cause problems with Web browsers interpreting cascading style sheets, you may want to apply color to text and objects using styles instead of the Color palette. To select a Web-safe color:
The vertical preview pane on the left side of the palette displays the currently selected color and the Value text box displays the current color's hexadecimal value. The scrolling lists display Web-safe colors that are the closest matches to the currently selected color. Note: Unlike the Web Color List, the Web Name List is not a set of Web-safe colors exclusively. A Web-safe color can be identified by the matching pairs in its color value, such as #6600FF.
To show or hide the row of buttons in the Color palette: Choose Show Buttons from the palette menu. To display color values in percentages instead of the 256 numerical scale: Choose Percent Values from the Color palette menu. A check mark appears next to the option in the menu. Choose Percent Values again from the palette menu to deselect it. |
