Creating and using custom components
Custom components refers to placing content sources or other constructs with dynamic content into the Library set of the Objects palette. This provides a simple way to define tables, contents sources, forms, and other elements, and use them site-wide.
To create a custom component from a dynamic page element such as a table: - Open the page that contains the desired dynamic page element.
- Click the Library set on the Objects palette.
- Drag the dynamic page element from the Layout Editor to the Library set.
To create a custom component from a content source: - Open the page that contains the desired content source.
- Click the Library set on the Objects palette.
- Click the triangle in the head section, if the head section is closed.
- Drag the desired content source from the head section pane of the Layout Editor to the Library set.
To use a custom component: - Open the dynamic page to which you wish to copy the dynamic custom component.
- Click the Library set on the Objects palette.
- Drag the dynamic custom component from the Library set to the appropriate area of the dynamic page (content sources to the head section pane, page elements, such as tables, to the page body).
