Adding text to a page
You add text to a page by typing directly in the page. Formatting options for text are limited in CHTML. Options that are not valid are not available in the menus and are grayed out (except context menus).
To add text: Click in the page to set an insertion point and then type or paste text.
To format paragraphs: Click in the paragraph you want to format and then choose a paragraph formatting option. - Choose Type > Paragraph Format and a Heading option or Preformatting. Most CHTML phone browsers don't display text any differently when you choose one of these options.
- Choose Type > Alignment and then an alignment option form the list. Left is the default alignment. You can also center or right align text, or align text in a block quote.
- Choose Type > List and then choose a numbering style or a bullet style.
For more information, see Formatting paragraphs.
To add color to text: - Select the text that you want to color.
- In the Color palette, select a color from the Web Color list and drag it over the selected text.
To add a line break: - Press Shift-Enter/Return, or drag the Line Break icon from the Basic set in the Objects palette to your document.
- To set how text breaks after an object in a line, in the Line Break Inspector select Clear and then choose an option from the pop-up menu.
To add text that scrolls across the page: - Drag the Marquee icon form the Basic set of the Objects palette to your page.
- In the Marquee Inspector, type your text and set the scrolling text options.
The Marquee icon is only available for i-mode 2.0 and i-mode 3.0. See Adding scrolling marquees for more information on setting the marquee options.
