Transferring files with the FTP browser

GoLive provides an FTP browser for file transfers to and from the Files tab or your system desktop. You can use the browser for any FTP purpose, not just for transferring Web site files.

Note: If you want to upload an entire site, or perform an update so that the local site and the server-based site are synchronized, use one of the Update commands on the Site > FTP Server submenu (or the equivalent button on the toolbar) rather than the FTP browser.

To perform simple file transfers with the FTP browser:

1. Choose File > FTP Browser.
2. Choose a browser from the Server menu and click the Connect button.
3. Do one of the following:
• To upload a file or folder, drag it from a site-window tab or the desktop to the FTP browser.
• To download a file or folder, drag it from the FTP browser to a site window tab.
• (Mac OS only) To download a file or folder, drag it from the FTP browser to the desktop.
